Kara's Cupcakes

I ran some errands for my boss around the Marina this afternoon. As anyone from that neighborhood can tell you, parking is scarce, but luckily, I was able to find a good spot on Scott Street and lo and behold, it was the sweetest spot of all because it just happened to be right in front of Kara’s Cupcakes. I was due for a treat.

If you’ve ever seen A&E’s Girls Next Door, you may be familiar with Sprinkles Cupcakes — cute and delectable cupcakes that look almost too cute to eat. Well, Kara’s Cupcakes is San Francisco’s own and is comparable to Sprinkles.

Since they opened last year, I’ve tried Raspberry Dazzle, Meyer Lemony Lemon, Java, Chocolate Velvet and today, Fleur del Sel (the dark delicious one pictured above: chocolate cupcake with caramel filling, ganache frosting & fleur del sel). They’re all as good as they look and although each cupcake is pretty petit (and pricey), each one explodes with flavor and will leave you wanting more. I suggest getting two cupcakes for insurance.

What’s my favorite? The coffee addict that I am, I love love love the Java cupcake — tongue-gasmic.

Oh em gee. One of my customers at my old job brought my co-worker and me a sampler of their cupcakes and they were amazing, but I totally forgot the name of where they were from. Thank you so much for jogging my memory!

(I know this is a super old post, but whatevs.)
