This is my homage to Solanah from Vixen Vintage. Needless to say, I adore her style, especially her vintage hats:
| How old are you and where are you from? |
| I’m 20 years old (only sometimes I swear I’m 60), and I live near Portland Oregon. |
| How did you develop your love for style? Any early influences? |
| I’ll have to credit the women in my family for influencing my style. My mother has fantastic style, high heels, pretty skirts, beaded cardigans, feminine sundresses. My aunt and sister in law both were into vintage when I was a little girl, in fact I was given a lot of their clothing for dress up and quickly realized that those clothes were far more exciting than anything else. I still have some of those dresses they gave me. |
| How did you come up with your blog name and what compelled you to start blogging? |
|
Honestly coming up with a blog name was the hardest thing for me. “Vintage Vixen” was already taken, so I just switched it. I wanted something with vintage in the title and that seemed to work. I started it late one night, and when I went to bed I knew that the next day I would forget about it and never look at it again. Since no one would know I started it, then no big deal. But then I kept getting comments, and during daily life I would think “hey, this would make a nice blog post” so I kept it up, because it made life seem more interesting to me. As time went on I was spending more and more time on Vixen Vintage, and putting more and more effort into it. |
| Which top 5 blogs do you visit every single day? |
| Do you use a PC or a Mac? Which would you rather have? |
| Everything I do is on my MacBook, and I love it. |
| Which blog platform do you use and how do you like it? Given a chance to upgrade, which platform would you move to? |
| I’m using blogger right now and really like it. It’s so easy to use, I don’t think I would ever want to change it. |
| Your photographs are beautiful. Can you share any words of wisdom for avid photographers? |
| Why thank you :) I have to say that I am quite lucky to have a professional photographer in the family, so I get so many tips and tricks, help with photoshop, and even some full on photoshoots just for fun. Having a decent camera is of course very important, mine is a Sony Cyber-shot. If you don’t have someone to take your photo then having a tripod is really helpful. I usually just set my camera on a timer and do a few poses. I have also learned that lighting can be tricky, I always want to take photos in the morning when I am fresh and my hair is all in place, but the lighting is terrible, so I have to wait until the early evening. |
| What’s on your to-do list today? |
|
| In one of those rare perfect moments, what are you doing? |
| Playing with kittens. |
|
When your life is made into a movie, what song will be playing during the opening credits? What song will be playing during the closing credits? |
|
opening: Put a Lid on it by the Squirrel Nut Zippers closing: C’est si Bon By Eartha Kitt |
