Avant-garde and thought-provoking, Elle Moss and her provocative photos take us on a surreal voyage into her world. I’ve spent endless hours admiring her work that I find so dark and yet so inviting. Here’s my homage to thee one and thee only Mod Housewife Extraordinaire:
| How old are you and where are you from? |
| Im 38 and from Ann Arbor, Michigan. |
| How did you develop your love for style? Any early influences? |
| My grandmother was very stylish and cared about style even into her 80′s. I have loads of pictures of her and she is dressed in every one. She always looked amazing! She also made pottery and taught me how to make it when I was very young. Art, literature, and style meant something to her and I have always admired that and wanted to emulate her. |
| How did you come up with your blog name and what compelled you to start blogging? |
| Diary of a Mod Housewife is something I thought up years ago. It is the name of my main photo set on Flickr and fits me quite well. Ive been a stay at home mom for many years, but always felt a bit of a black sheep. I like that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. |
| Which top 5 blogs do you visit every single day? |
| Do you use a PC or a Mac? Which would you rather have? |
| Both. I do most of my work and all of my photo processing on a Mac. I often use my husband’s laptop for checking mail etc. though. |
| Which blog platform do you use and how do you like it? Given a chance to upgrade, which platform would you move to? |
| I use blogspot as I am a total idiot when it comes to most blogging and html. My knowledge is Limited…with a capital “L”. Its okay. Really wish they offered more layouts…like 100 more. |
| Your photographs are beautiful. Can you share any words of wisdom for avid photographers? |
| Have fun shooting! Life is short and you shouldnt spend it worrying what others will think of your creations. Make what you love, do what you love and try to have fun while doing it. Otherwise, what is the point?! Throw caution to wind once in a while and try and take risks! |

| In one of those rare perfect moments, what are you doing? |
| I’m on vacation picnicking at a park. My daughter is flying a kite with her dad, my son is listening to music and I am taking pictures of it all. Or how about this…I’m alone with my camera walking the streets of Paris… kids are at the hotel with their daddy. :) |
