Sunday Flicks: Paris, Je T’aime

June 21, 2009

My husband and I borrowed this movie from the library yesterday. Paris, Je T’aime may very well be one of the better movies I’ve seen in a long time. The last movie I saw that I fully enjoyed was Ratatouille, another Paris-inspired movie. Amelie before that, then Chocolat. I love Paris!

I loved this movie. Some parts where so sad, but others so romantic, and some plain weird!! Overall, enjoyable. I loved the Natalie Portman story with her blind boyfriend. So sweet.
And Chocolat was the first dvd I ever bought when I was in college. Cole and I watched it soooooo much when we first got it.

ooo, I love French movies. I’ve been dying to watch “La Vie en Rose.” Have you seen the Three Colors Trilogy? Blue is first, takes place in France. White is Poland, I think, and Red is Swiss?? Not light-hearted and fun, but good movies. Good if you like character sketches (which I love).

@maria:
I saw Chocolat 1000x. I don’t think I could ever get tired of watching it!
@aya:
The movie was strange. In a very good way. :D

I’ve been on the look out for La Vie en Rose at the library. I should probably reserve it or something! I haven’t heard of Three Colors Trilogy. My husband said they’re masterpieces. I have a strong feeling those are movies I’d enjoy. We also rented 400 Blows from the library — another French movie. We’re going to watch it in just a few minutes, as a matter of fact — while we munch on dinner.
