I made a trip to Mission Dolores to visit Tartine Bakery. I calculated the best time to go would be 2PM, hoping that the usual crowd would have dissipated by then. But I was wrong — it was packed. The line ran out the door and it took 15 minutes to order a single Banana Cream Pie and a double espresso to go. This is why I rarely visit Tartine. A simple visit can easily turn into an expedition, with parking as far as eight blocks away from the bakery.
I wanted to take lots of pictures of this cafe because during those very rare occasions that you manage to snag a table, it really is a pleasant place to pass the time and people watch. It’s also a great place to take many candid pictures. I was able to take a couple with my D40 and I promise to them to you next week.

The highlight of this trip is that I brought my Holgaroid (Holga with a Polaroid back)! Despite overcast weather and my low speed film, I was able to take 4 photos that captured today’s mood.

Wow I didn’t even know there were dual cameras like that!
These are so spooky and mysterious. They remind me of Secret Garden and Little Princess and all those movies that were so scary but beautiful as a kid.
One of these days I’m gonna go down and visit my friends in San Fran and when I do we have to meet up and go to this bakery!
