I turned in my first assignment on Sunday and it revolved around the theme of “Your neighborhood as a special place”. I shot a ton of pictures, and I think these two are the best of the bunch.
These photos were taken in Daly City, a little town south of San Francisco. I grew up there, and the two things I love most about D.C. are the ticky-tacky houses and the fact that it’s right next to the Pacific Ocean. My classmates will critique these photos. I’m looking forward to hearing how I can improve these shots.

Love the fun bright houses in the second shot.

The second photo caught my eye first, but I choose the first one as my fav. It looks random, but everything is actually there where it should be. It’s like an art piece of daily life. Gosh, it’s hard to explain what I wanna say in English. Hope you understood.

Your photos are gorgeous, especially the second one. I think this is a great idea for a photo assignment… I should try it next time I go home to Cupertino. Cupertino is not the most exciting place in the world, but maybe I’ll be able to look at it with fresh eyes now that I’ve been living away for so long!
