Inspired by Jeremy Stockwell’s picture-in-a-picture Polaroid shots, I took these photos in front of the Volkswagen dealership on Mission Street in Daly City. As much as I’m a fan of the VW GTI, I’m not in the market for one. But, VW had the best balloons, with happy carnival colors and I just couldn’t resist using them as props for this set of photos.
As I was doing my thing, a salesman approached me and asked what I was doing. I said, “I’m just taking pictures for fun.” As I handed him my blogger card, I said, “You can see these pictures on my blog tomorrow.” Then he said, “What’s a blog?” Hey you guys, we’re on the bleeding edge. :)
The instant photos were taken with my beloved bastard camera, my Holgaroid, and the enclosing photos were taken with my D40 Nikon, with a fixed 35mm lens. I’m pleased with how they turned out.

I adore this idea! I wish I had a Polaroid to play with so I could take pictures like this! The balloons are so fun and colorful!

These are so great. So inspiring. I have a fujifilm instant camera, well I actually got it for my boyfriend for Christmas, but we share it. I need to buy a bunch of film when I go home, because it’s way cheaper in Hong Kong.
