Fab Fonts: Font Squirrel

Learning Curve

I can spend an entire morning looking through font sites for no reason other than to collect new fonts for my library. There are so many amazing and amusing fonts out there. Some are free and an even smaller set of those free fonts are available for commercial use. Fonts with a license that allows commercial use are especially important to those of us who design our own blogs and websites and Etsy banners.

So, I was really happy to find Font Squirrel. All of the fonts on the site are 100% free for personal and commercial use — how cool is that! I spent hours playing with the fonts that I downloaded and I compiled my favorite Font Squirrel fonts in this post. Just click on the font that you like and you’ll be redirected to that font page on Font Squirrel for immediate download.

One of my favorite new fonts is called Impact Label and it looks like something an old Dymo Labelmaker would spit out:

By the way, something really cool happened yesterday — this photo was featured on Ez’s gorgeous blog, Creature Comforts. Thanks for the kind mention, Ez. :)

This reminds me of Steve Jobs stories about fonts and how he a class he crashed in college inspired him to open up computers to font options :-)

I love the dingbats font with the maritini glasses and eiffel tower!
