I received a few emails asking for the names of the embroidery-style fonts I used in this post. The fonts were free — all downloaded from Dafont. The names are listed below — simply click on a font name and you’ll be directed to its profile page at Dafont.
By the way, Lisa created the yummy image above. I LOVE IT. Visit her blog at Sideoats & Scribbles — check out her awesome photo tutorials! Oh, and that fabulous butterfly pin? It’s by Kitschy Digitals.
The stitching effects were pretty easy to implement — I just created a few simple brushes. If you want to learn how to make your own, I walk through the steps of creating a zigzag brush in the screencast after the jump.

Ooh! Thanks Katrina (^•^)
Brushes! woooot!
I really have to do something about my brushes folder. It’s a disaster.
Is there a Brushes Anonymous somewhere?
oh! and a Texture Collecting Anonymous would probably be good for me too.
LOL!
Happy Friday Katrina! Thanks! :)
Just signed for Premium membership to get access to these brushes! Many thanks.
OK, I posted too soon. What settings did you use to get an “even” stitch? Is there an optimum scatter or spacing setting I should use?
Thanks for the brushes!! I’m having so much fun with all your clip art, font suggestions and pointers! Loving it all ;o)

@notabilia: thanks for signing up. :) yes, to get an even stitch in photoshop, you must have some settings turned on. i go through these settings towards the end of the video embedded in the blog post. essentially, you have to go into your brushes palette. click on brush tip shape and increase the spacing between “brush impressions”. to see these steps in action, please watch the video. if you have any more questions, let me know.
thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Font style is such an important part of design. Many people dismiss it, but it can really add to the overall impact when chosen wisely. These are great.
