Creating stripes with two colors in Photoshop is fairly simple. But how do you make stripes with 3 colors (if you know, please share the wealth)? One of the Etsy banner proofs I created for Paper Pastries had airmail stripes. Margaret suggested this idea and I thought it was brilliant! But when I tried to create air mail stripes in Photoshop with the same techniques I used to make my stationery textures, it just didn’t work. Well, Stripe Generator came to the rescue (thank you Zachzach103).
With Stripe Generator, you can create stripes with up to 5 colors. You can create diagonal stripes, vertical stripes, horizontal stripes, thick, thin — you name it! And, the great thing about these stripes is that they produce seamless backgrounds, perfect for our blogs and websites!
Though the banner with the air mail border didn’t make the cut, it was fun to make. :)
Here are more stripes I created based on the colors from an old ColourLover post — the one with Gemma Correll’s cute Pugs Not Drugs card:
These are the settings I used to create stripe pattern #5:
If you love stripes or need a stripe-y background for your blog, visit Stripe Generator — it makes creating stripes a cinch. :)

I have a tutorial for making diagonal lines on my blog here: http://starrilicious.com/blog/tutorials/diagonal-multi-coloured-lines-ps-cs2/
To make sets of three you need a number divisible by three for example 90px rather than 100px but the principle is the same.
Thanks for sharing the knowledge!! I’m afraid I can’t even get the 2 color technique down, though I think I’ve mastered the color dynamic dots :) I’ll definitely be checking this strip generator out! I’ve spent way too much money on digital paper already!

I’ve clearly got A LOT of PhotoShopping to learn, so this tool is great – thanks! Love the banner, too, of course!
Oh, that’s wonderful Katrina, you’re always sharing the most amazing stuff! Thanks! ♥
Oh thank you! Do you ever make my life easier! To make stripes I’ve been using the diagonal stripe custom shape tool and then duplicating it, sliding it up and replacing the color. This is WAY easier!
