Noteworthy: Mellowmint

My heart skipped a beat when I landed on Mellowmint’s DeviantArt site (via The Common Jar). Mellowmint is packed with beautiful vintage resources — for free. Need some high resolution planisphere textures for your projects? How about some black and white Parisian postcards, or some really old maps for backgrounds? Mellowmint’s got them all. FYI: If you’re going to use Mellowmint’s resources, please be aware that credit is required — please read the terms of use for more details.

Anyhow, I downloaded 19 zip files over the weekend and I’m excited to use them. I may even print some of the map textures to use as backgrounds for my collages. :)

My favorite Mellowmint downloads:

Hello Katrina,
Thank you so much for sharing all of this. I regularly lurk on your blog, first comment from me :) I’ve only recently started using some of your clip art too. Your whole blog is great source of inspiration.
I must join your flickr group to showcase the stuff I’ve been using of yours!
Cheers,
Gen

Hi Katrina! This is my first time commenting on your blog and I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy it! I subscribed to your members only area and absolutely LOVE all of the downloads you provide. I’ve just begun to get my design business up and running so you have no idea how much your site has helped me! I put a link to your blog up on my personal blog (www.dancing-coco.blogspot.com) in the hopes that other people will find your lovely site. Thank you again!

I found Mellow awhile back through Katie as well (The Common Jar), and I’ve had a blast with the resources – especially some of the vintage map bits!!!

A quick question what is the best way to give credit on my blog for stock used to create my images? I’m new at this and need some advice so I don’t offend anyone ;}
