A break from the move break…
I get email from Anthropologie every week and I keep them in a special folder in my Gmail account. They’re so pretty, just like their paper catalogs, which I also covet.
This season, Anthropologie’s email campaign has consisted of photos with semi-transparent lace borders as well as painted photo frames. They’re subtle, but very effective and they frame their subjects beautifully without drawing attention away from the product.
Today’s premium blog bling is inspired by my heroes at Anthropologie and I hope you enjoy these fashion photo borders. They will enhance your photos without overpowering them.
Special Thanks
My lovely model in these pictures is Moorea Seal. The multi-talented Ms. Seal is the designer of powerful amethyst rings and gypsy crowns that are to die for! Thanks, Moorea! ♥
I created the painted and letterpressed borders with masks so that you can easily change colors and opacities. As for the lace borders, you can easily change the way they look by changing the blending modes.

Very nice! I especially love the painted edges. By the way, I’ve been so inspired by your hipstamatic images, and as I just got an iphone, it’s like a brand new world out there! Thank you for the inspiration. :)
Ooh two Allison comments in a row! :)
I really like these, especially the simple lace ones at the top.
That’s so exciting about your future SLR! My advice (the only thing I ever do) is just to experiment with it in every way you can! What lens are you going to have? I actually dropped mine and broke it so now I just have a 50mm lens, which limits what I can do a lot. One of these days I’ll replace my old one!
Hope the move is going well! :) Thanks for the advice about Tumblr too. I’m not unsatisfied with wordpress but I like the simplicity of Tumblr – that I could just post one thing at a time, any media type. I guess it seems like its almost like twitter, right? We’ll see, I’ll have to think about it..
Been trying to figure out how to get those “painted edges.” This makes my life a whole lot easier! Will be using soon.
@allison: i’m spoiled by hipstamatic — i think you’ll love it!
@allison (24:00): thanks, i can hardly wait, i tell ya. i intend to use my 50mm for it (i want dof!). sorry to hear about your lens, though — that sux.
@notabilia: yay, glad it will be useful. :)
Anthro really does it all right – even with their emails. I love these. Beautiful work!
