Handmade: Calling Cards

DIY Calling Cards

My beloved collection of vintage sequins has been sitting in the darkness of my closet all these years and I felt it was time to liberate them. I spent Saturday packaging them as gifts to some pals and I used the glassine envelopes that I sold in my old Etsy shop to hold the sequins. After I sealed all the envelopes and packages, I was amazed at all the product left over from Mr. Rabbit Sir: glassine envelopes of various sizes, vellum, card stock, kraft paper, tissue paper, etc. — everything you need to run an online shop!

Last year, Margaret from Paper Pastries wrote a post about DIY calling cards using a customizable stamp kit. Her cards turned out really cute so I decided to follow suit and make my own out of my orphaned business supplies. The added benefit is that I would be using supplies that I had already paid for.

So I made 50 chocolate cupcakes, punched a bushel of confetti from tissue paper, and stamped my name on some glassine envelopes (2.25 x 3.5 in). I also repurposed an old tin can to serve as a container for my new “cards” by covering the lid with strips of black and white washi tape. I’m pretty pleased with the way it turned out. :)
