I didn’t start out to write a DIY post. My glitter tape photoshoot was intended to be a glitter texture photoshoot for a future download. But, as it happens, I got sidetracked and I started playing around with the double-sided sticky tape on my desk. One thing led to another and here you go: do-it-yourself glitter tape — messy but fun.
While I was making these, I was listening to Django Reinhardt’s version of Stardust Memories — one of my favorite songs. You should listen to the lyrics by Hoagy Carmichael one day. The song is beautiful. Anyway, the glitter made me think of what stardust must be like. Hence, the title: Stardust. :)

Hi Katrina,

This is amazing! Holding my breath for the glitter textures!!!!!
I love this tutorial! Also love how simple it is. I have all these materials in my house and can think of a few spin-offs from this idea. Thanks for the DIY.
Also, great setting for your photo shoots. I really need to create something like that myself. Did you just use white cardboard covered in white paper?
This DIY is so simple and the results are SO pretty! I cannot thank you enough for sharing and I’m definitely going to try this soon! Also, your nook + sofa + studio combo is the coolest! Haha. <3
oh! i just love this diy. thanks so very much. i’m a bit of a glitter fanatic.
& i think your photo-studio / craft area is perfect.
What wonderful visual narrative in this post! Back in the day, friends would get magazines when we were at boarding school that had stories told in photographs, like cartoons but without the drawings (like this one I found on flickr) and for a split second, I remembered all of that looking at your post :)
The behind the scenes part of this post is the part that moved me to comment. I love following your posts because I think that you really excel at this medium, and it is wonderful to watch your new ideas. So spiffy!
What a great idea! :) I have so much glitter, I’ll be trying this! :)

Such a great idea! I had a thought, why not try some glitter ribbon, it might be less messy than loose ribbon. It wont look as good as with loose glitter though. http://www.bow-peep.co.za/2011/07/bling-ribbon.html
