Handmade: Shipping Tags with Glass Microbeads

Glitter Magnets

Yesterday I experimented with some shipping tags (of which I have a VAST supply left over from my defunct Etsy shops) with some colorful glass microbeads that I bought as a 12-pack set. I used some double-sided sticky tape and arranged the tape on the shipping tags, then sprinkled one strip at a time with microbeads.

As with the glitter tape, this is really simple stuff, but the effect is really sweet. I was surprised and pleased that the little glass beads stuck to the tape. I was afraid that they would brush off easily, but it wasn’t a problem.

Next: Buy some adhesive sheets. I wanna experiment with different shapes like circles and blobs. :)

Are you following the new season of Project Runway? In the newest episode, the contestants had to work with supplies from a pet store and this guy (I think his name is Anthony), he covered his entire dress in bird feed and it was BEAUTIFUL. Just like your tags! I bet seeing it up close in real life, I’d wanna touch the tiny minuscule beads.

Adding a link to the bird feed dress! (http://bit.ly/r4mRQA)

I love glass microbeads as an alternative to glitter. The texture is so pretty.

These turned out great, Katrina!

i’d say those microbeads are sitting pretty with this smash hit! i LOVE the assemblage Katrina and gosh even the little record player prop is the bee’s knees. my folks had one just like it when i was growing up, so cool. delightful share!

oooo those turned out bee-U-tee-full! i’ve been putting off getting those MS glitters and beads because they are much more expensive here—everything is much more expensive here and shipping is ridiculous—but i already have a list of things to get from ikea and hobby lobby when i go back home in october and these are def on there!

Awesome! I tried this with double sided tape last week, but I think if I brushed it a bit they would fall off. Thanks!
