I originally bought some craft pipe-cleaners from Daiso thinking that I would make a heart-shaped ring tutorial for Valentine’s Day. I made some heart rings, alright, but they looked kind of sad, so I abandoned them. Anyway, I happened to see these cute bunny rings on Asos and I immediately thought of my Rabito iPhone cases. One thing led to another and I thought it would be fun to make my own rabbit rings out of the pipe cleaners that were just waiting to be called to duty.
ASOS Rings
These Asos bunny rings are really cute but I wonder how sharp the ears are. They’re probably not good if you talk emphatically with your hands. :)
Easy DIY
- Bend a pipe cleaner around your finger and twist it 2 times.
- Choose one of the ends and roll it down to the base.
- Repeat the previous step on the other side.
- Now you have 2 rolled up pipe cleaners.
- Pinch the rolls into ear-shapes and make them pointy. If rabbits aren’t your thing, just separate the ears a little to make Mickey or Minnie rings.
- That’s it — tada!
Valentine’s Day
Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, you might want to give a Rabito or Mickey ring to your crushes/soul mates/friends/BFFs. Here’s one gift-wrapping idea that uses heart confetti and stamped glassine envelopes.
