Last Friday, I met Sarah and Jenn — the genii behind the Modcloth blog — for lunch in SOMA. Our plan was to meet at Darwin, but that was scotched because it was too crowded, so instead we went to The Creamery where, they say, big ideas transpire and tech deals go down. Maybe so, but we just enjoyed lunch and chatted about Photoshop, blogs, and web design. Talking with these two smart women gave me much food for thought. It’s great to meet people with big ideas and awesome plans for the future — very inspiring…
As for my fussing over my City-venturing outfit, I confess that in addition to my SOMA lunch date and my Japantown expedition, in the back of my mind was my meeting with ABM over the Summer. That day I wore a black knee-length skirt, black leggings, my Chuck Taylors, a bulky sweater, a fur-lined hoodie, and all of this was topped off with my camo jacket, my grungy cap, and my backpack. Mind you, when I planned that outfit I thought I looked pretty hot! That is, until I got off BART and found that it was 80 degrees in the City; sweat was running down my forehead in streams. Then I caught my reflection in a store window and realized that I looked like a Wildling Wench from The Game of Thrones. For my meeting with the Modcloth girls, I didn’t want to look like a commando bursting out of a bunker and hence all the careful wardrobe planning. I love Fashion, but the feeling isn’t always mutual!
Anyhow, with the weather being soggy here all week I haven’t been out much, but I did manage to take a few photos of my City outing. More Instagram photos here. :)
