My name is Katrina. I’m not a designer, but I’m definitely an enthusiast. Pugly Pixel is where I write about web design, photography, style, my favorite mags, and anything else I’m wildly excited about. Though my posts verge on cute and girly, they’re informative, and that’s just right for my audience of fashion bloggers, artists, crafters, and designers who want a gentle introduction to the technical side of blogging (i.e. CSS and Photoshop basics). I have a degree in Computer Science, but I have an even higher degree in Kawaii, earned from all the years I spent lurking in Kinokuniya Bookstore in Japantown. I hope you enjoy my blog!

I’m self-taught and I’m happy to share everything I learn with you as tutorials. If you see any egregious errors in my photoshop or html/css tutorials, by all means, please let me know.

The process of learning involves experimentation and I’ve made lots of stuff along the way. Part of the fun is sharing them and I’ve made them available to you. You will find lots of free and extra resources in the form of clip art, blog photo layouts, photoshop brushes, and textures. You can download many of them for free, and you can get a lot extra for only $5. You can also buy more resources à la carte from The Marketplace.
