Yesterday, I took a cue from my Mad March Hare and made a big jump: I gave my boss 30 day’s notice that April 1st would be my last day of toil in his coal mine. He said, “I’m surprised that you stayed at this stupid job for so long anyway.” It’s nice to know I’ll be missed.
How do I feel about all this? I feel scared for the obvious reason that I won’t have a steady stream of income for a short while, but at the same time, I feel like a kid who just opened a fresh box of Crayola Crayons, with 48 different brilliant colors, and I get to draw on a fresh sheet of paper whatever I want. These are exciting times, indeed! :)
So these are my quitting-my-job clothes. I really like this outfit and it’s easily one of my favorites. It’s simple, colorful, and really comfy — a big plus. The brass bunny necklace was a Valentine’s gift from my hubby. He got it for me after hearing me gush about it when it was featured on Kind Over Matter. The necklace is by Pink Andie Designs on Etsy. I like to call it my Mad March Hare.

If you’re wondering about the headless Katrina, it’s because this photo is for Bloganista, a Flickr fashion/style pool, kind of like Wardrobe Remix, except you can’t show your face — it levels the playing field for us regular folks. At least I don’t have to worry so much about my photo face looking all scrunched when I’m focused on taking my own picture. And that, my friends, is a good thing. :)

I can’t wait to catch up on my blog-reading. See you on the Internet!

I immersed myself in food all weekend. Is this what they call eating your feelings?
Friday: The Bay Watch Cafe, Burlingame
Saturday: The Crepe House, Hayes Valley, SF
Sunday: Copenhagen Cafe, Burlingame
When I finally came up for air, I found this, from Adeline, with one of my favorite quotes posted on her Talking Tree:

Then, for the first time in days, I smiled. Thank you, Adeline.
Thank you for all of your kind and supportive comments, you guys. Reading about your experiences has made me feel hopeful and for that, I thank you. :)

I’m stuck between a rock and the unknown. I’ve come to dislike my job — a lot. This feeling has grown over the years and has now reached the point of ad nauseam. I’ve come to the realization that I stayed in one place longer than I should have. Now I find myself wondering why, and I’m facing the prospect of jumping from this cramped, uncomfortable lily pad to another one, an unknown place. This thought scares me, though I know it’s the right thing to do. I’m contemplating the anatomy of “I QUIT”.
In honor of my serious frame of mind, here are a few of my dark, underexposed photos, like this photo, taken at the Marina in San Francisco.
Overhead trolley lines at California and Masonic.
JFK Drive, Golden Gate Park
I normally refrain from writing about this kinda stuff because Pugly Pixel is about my passions, not about my day job. I’ll be glad to put this behind me and get back into the flow of things, back to visiting your blogs and back to writing about my kawaii fixations.

P.S.
I hope to see you guys on Monday for Flickr Fave. :)
My Much Love Monday Project submission. I realize that what I’m about to share is completely unrelated to the photo (and that I’ve already used this photo in an older post), but here goes:
I love lazy pj days spent watching marathon reruns of ANTM.

Currently watching Cycle 4.

I also received the Kreativ Blogger Award from Camelias & Crinolines and Girl Whimsy. Here are 7 things you may not know about me:
- My lover affair with color started when I opened my first box of crayons.
- I have fantasies of playing the violin.
- I used to frequent raves in my youth. Today, I’m a happy homebody.
- I exercise religiously 9 hours a week, rain or shine.
- I’ve been building websites since 1996.
- I built this ecard site from scratch one summer.
- In the late 1990’s I was a grunt at a PR firm that had Apple as a client. That was exciting.
Thanks for this award, Ms. Crinolines and Ms. GirlWhimsy! I now pass this award to: Cassidy, Lightning Heart, and Oh Hello Beatiful.
