Make your own kawaii pastry charms with kits from the Decotti Kawaii Pastry Cheff (sic). I learned about these cute kits while visiting Chelsea Nicole’s blog, and while I was watching the video below, I took comfort in seeing a room full of grown women enjoying their toys as much as I enjoy mine. It validates my own kawaii craze in some strange way. Seeing this video makes me want to visit Japan already!
Do you like the pink washi tape around that last image? I bought a set of 10 washi tape frames by Kitschy Digitals. It was on sale at Jessica Sprague for a mere buck today! The sale ends in a few hours and I’m glad I was able buy it on time (thanks for the heads up, Karli!). Still, even at the regular price of $3.99 — it’s a deal!
My friend, Catherine, from The Renegade Bean, posted this video over the weekend. If you’re an Alice in Wonderland fan, surely you’ll enjoy this silent short film from 1903. I loved it!
I’ve been listening to the same music over and over again for the last couple of weeks. As much as I enjoy my current rotation (Amelie soundtrack, Wizard of Oz soundtrack, Louis Prima, and Django Reinhardt), it’s getting a little old, so I’m open to change.
Did you know about UO’s Music Mondays? Well, every Monday, UO has five fresh songs available for listening or download. I didn’t think I would enjoy these tunes very much, but I really liked them, especially the first two, which are reminiscent of Arcade Fire. You can sample them now by hitting the play button below. Hooray for good (and free) music!
On a different note, I want to give you a heads up about my schedule: due to my involvement in some fun projects, my posts will be fairly sporadic for the next few weeks. Regular posting will commence soon enough, though.
FYI: I will host yet another very random and short-lived Just Because Giveaway some time next week. No Lula this time, but I promise that it’ll be prize-worthy.
Flippin’ through the racks and racks of cds at library the other day, I felt nostalgic when I found this CD by Louis Prima. I used to work at a coffee house in Daly City. It was called Serra Coffee and it was the little town’s first coffee house ever. During busy spells, the owner loved to play loud, jivin’ music, which made the place even louder with happy chatter. He loved Louis Prima and he used to play this song over and over and over again. It soon became one of my favorites!
