I turned in my first assignment on Sunday and it revolved around the theme of “Your neighborhood as a special place”. I shot a ton of pictures, and I think these two are the best of the bunch.

These photos were taken in Daly City, a little town south of San Francisco. I grew up there, and the two things I love most about D.C. are the ticky-tacky houses and the fact that it’s right next to the Pacific Ocean. My classmates will critique these photos. I’m looking forward to hearing how I can improve these shots.

BREAKING NEWS: My beautiful friend, Kat, is hosting an Amanda Atkins giveaway (date 2/2)! And you know how much I love Amanda Atkins, right? I’ve already thrown my hat into the ring. How about you?

I want to give huge thanks to Kara and Lindsey for mentioning my shop in their blogs. T H A N K Y O U!
Though we have our own washer and dryer, the machines are much too small to handle the sheets and comforters. So for gigantic loads, like the one I had last Sunday, I prefer to make a run to the laundromat. I usually visit the one just around the corner, but this time, I drove to Tons of Bubbles in Pacifica, where it’s clean and true blue. Is this place cute or what?

Every weekend, we visit the pet store to give our big boy, Mojo, a bath. Last weekend, we noticed that puppy season has arrived again. The place was packed with puppies.

We saw a pile of pit pups in a shopping cart.

We had a chat with Dylan, who just dyed his hair green, probably to match his 4-foot long python.

Our Pug, Taco, loves loofas. We considered getting him another one, but he already has a herd of them at home.

I can imagine a bin like this full of pit pups.

This sad-eyed fellow is Mojo, our dog, enjoying his weekly bath.

Mojo’s reward for tolerating our his bath is a sweet delicacy from the canine bakery. He loves the pink cupcakes. Who wouldn’t? I tasted one of them and it was sweet — like a sweet piece of wood.

We’ve got a simple life full of dogs and we love it.

Some places are almost magical in that they don’t seem to change much. So it is for Pacifica, a little coastal town just south of San Francisco. I had to run a few errands there last Friday and was pleased to see the strip mall the same as it ever was, tacky and charming all at once. I was running a little late, so I could only grab a few pictures. Next time I’m there, I’ll get some pictures of the ol’ bakery, Mazetti’s. For now, here are a few photos of Manor Plaza:
